Annual Sports award-cum-3rd Consultative meeting with Arunachal Olymic Association was held on Wednesday.
The Annual Sports award-cum-3rd Consultative meeting with Arunachal Olymic Association and all registered State Level Sports Association was held on Wednesday at Sports Authority conference hall wherein Gechi Doke was awarded Life time achievement awards for promoting games and sports in the State.
The meeting was chaired by Minister Sports & Youth Affairs Dr Mohesh Chai.
During the event, sportspersons, state level sports associations etc were awarded & honoured for their achievement and dedication by the state government.
Speaking to media persons, Sports Authority of Arunachal (SAA) Chairman Bamang Tago informed that the meeting is being attended by most of registered State Level Sports Association executive members. This meeting held to discuss & propose new ideas, innovations, policies etc through which could be taken up to facilitate sports in the state, informed Tago. SAA Chairman further informed that discussion on proper utilization of grants to maintain transparency will also be stressed.
Following sportspersons and association are the awardees of annual State Sports Award: Player of the year(Male)- Sinne Mikhu (International Karateka), Player of the year(Female)- Johny Mangkhiya (International Karateka), Coach of the year- S.Deben Sharma (Karate coach), Best sports organizer of the year- Arunachal Pradesh Football Association etc. Lt. Indrajit Namchoom was also honoured during the event.
The programme was attended by Secretay, SYA, Chairman and Vice Chairman,Sports Authority of Arunachal,Director of Sports,Director Youth Affairs,Director,Sports Authority and all the members of all state level sports associations
Among others the programme was attended by vice chairman SAA Doni Nich, chairman SAA Bamang Tago, Secretary Sports and Youth Affairs Dani Salu etc.
