Arunachal: ALSU Protest in support of their demand

Arunachal Law Students Union (ALSU) today staged dharna and protest in favour of their 8 point demand.

The Union stage dharna at Tennis court here to show their protest on the starting of the budget session to draw the attention of the state government to press their demand.

The main demand which include repeal of Arunachal Unlawful (Prevention) Activities Act-2014, implementation of permanent land law and forest Act, reinstate state guest house to Chief Ministers bungalow, implementation of Lokayukta, establishment of juvenile home, establishment of independent High Court, establishment of CJM and other subordinate court in each district of state, removal of status of Parliamentary Secretaries as per supreme court order,

Protesters were shouting against the state government and said that state government hai hai, we want justice, hamari mange puri karo,

ALSU President Romik Jogu while talking to media said that Arunachal Unlawful (Prevention) Activities Act-2014 was brought by former Chief Minister Nabam Tuki period with a good intention to contain the crime to but it have been observed that it have been misused at several instance which need to be repealed and state government too think twice of its bad impact in society due to which many have suffered.

The state government itself not abiding the law and the MLA in our state are holding the status of Parliamentary Secretary are still holding the post which need to be abolished as per the supreme court of India.

Since we are law students and law abiding youth of the country and government itself not adhering to the supreme court of India order and we will plan to go for democratic movement as we have been carrying our protest for last one year peacefully but no resolution have been arrived so far.  Romik added.
