Arunachal: 3 dies in road accident, Khandu expressed Shock

Chief Minister Pema Khandu has expressed shock over the news of tragic road accident at Ankaling near Kalaktang subdivision claiming three precious lives and leaving three others grievously injured on January 11 late evening.

While deeply mourning over the death of three people who were identified as Late Dendup Tsering 23 years, Pema Wangdi 24 years and Late Kejang Wangmu in the unfortunate accident, Chief Minister Khandu announced ex-gratia to kith and kins of the deceased according to laid down norms.

He also wished for speedy recovery of the persons who were grievously injured in the fatal accident.

He appealed commuters and vehicle drivers to be extra cautious while driving in the curves of hilly terrains to avoid such kinds of unfortunate incident.

Accident Details:

Three villagers of Boha village under Kalaktang sub-division of West Kameng district died on spot while three received grievous injury in a tragic road accident on January 11 evening.

West Kameng Superintendent of Police P.N. Khrimey while talking to this daily said that the tragic road accident which occurred on Kalaktang-Ankaling road on January 11 at around 6-7 PM when a red Maruti Alto-800 car bearing registration No-AS-12 D 3010 meet with fatal accident and fell into 250 mtrs deep gorge and three occupants died on spot. The accident occurred near 6 Kilo point. All the passengers belongs to Boha Village of the area.

The 6 person in board which include 4 male and 2 female, Though report received to Kalaktang Police lately at around 9 PM to and on receipt of information police visited place of occurrence. Due to darkness the rescue operation was badly affected.

The person died on spot which include Dundup Tsering, 23 year male, Pema Wangdi 24 year male while Kesang Wangmo, 34 year female of Boha village.

He said that after registering a case at Kalaktang Police Station vide case No- 1/18 u/s-279, 337, 338, 304 (A)/427 IPC all formalities including PM done and body have been handed over to family members and relatives for conducting last rite.

He said the three grievously injured were admitted to local Kalaktang Health centre yesterday who were in serious condition and they all have been evacuated to Guwahati today for further treatment,  Khrimey added.
