Arunachal: 29th Anniversary of the Dalai Lama’s Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony celebrated at Tawang 

The villagers of Shyo Village in collaboration with ITFS Tawang, celebrated 29th anniversary of Nobel Peace prize, conferred to Dalai Lama.

The villagers of Shyo Village in collaboration with NGO Indo Tibet Friendship Society (ITFS) Tawang, today celebrated the 29th anniversary of Nobel Peace prize, conferred to His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama Gyalwa Tenzin Gyatso. HH the Dalai Lama was presented  this prestigious award in the year 1989.

Thousands of public from Tawang township and nearby villages attended the celebration, Jambey Wangdi, Chairman, Dept of Karmic and Adhyatmik ( DOKAA/Chos-Rig) affairs Arunachal Pradesh graced the occasion as chief guest.

In his welcome speech President ITFS Ven. Tashi Chogyal, accorded welcome to all the participants on behalf of the organisers. The newly posted Doctor for Men-Tse- Khang, Tawang Dr.Tenzin Gelek was also accorded warm welcome.

Jambey Wangdi, Chairman DOKAA(Chos-Rig) affairs in his address to the gathering conveyed warm wishes to all and appreciated the organisers for continuously celebrating this occasion and other important occasions  every year. He further requested the organisers to continue this tradition and also asked the youths to shoulder the responsibility to carry forward our tradition and preserve the culture.

Jambey wangdi also informed that, youths selected by DOKAA for learning traditional arts under TIPA are doing well, and recently had the opportunity to perform at Sankisa before HH the Dalai Lama. We should be humble and respectful to each other in our conduct.

Ven.Lama Ngawang Norbu senior monk from Tawang Monastery and others also spoke on the occasion.
