Arunachal: 10-Year-old girl drown in Dikrong river

A 10 year girl from Niya Colony drowned in Dikrong river today’s evening. Search was initiated by the locals but could not find the sources said.

Capital SP Tumme Amo inform that a 10 year girl of Banderdewa, Jamuna Tali, daughter of Chaling Tali  went to Dikrong river at Baligaon (Assam) alongwith her friend for a bath at around 1600 hrs. But the information received at around 1800 hrs that she have been drowned in the river. Search was arranged by the locals but the body could not find. The search was also conducted by the police on Assam side and body today was found today and brought to Banderdewa which would be handed over to the family members. He said.

Amo further said that due to monsoon almost all the river of state are in spate and cautioned the parents not to allow their children to go to river. Also in other case those who do not know swimming should not go to river in such weather. Amo added.

However, a local from Bangalmara Chandra Mandal inform this daily that he got information from the local that a body of a small girl aged around 9/10 years was found lying in sand on the bank of river Dikrong and which was informed to the local leaders of the area who later inform the local police at  Bihpuria. And the body have been taken away by Banderdewa police in afternoon.

He said that the body of the minor girl was spotted on the bank of river Dikrong by the local at around 8.30 this morning at place called Bangal Mara (Bali sapri) Pachali under Bihpuria police station of Assam. Accordingly he uploaded in the facebook and later come to know that the girl belong to Banderdewa area of Arunachal Pradesh. Mandal added.
