Army Organised National Integration Tour to Rajasthan

A Nation is united only when there is emotional integration amongst its people and not mere geographical integration. In its effort to bring about the much desired emotional integration of the people in this remote part of the country, the local Army Unit, based at Chirang under the aegis of the Red Horns Division is conducting  National Integration Tour for children and teachers from various schools of Chirang to Rajasthan, with an aim to give an exposure to the rich Heritage, culture and the way of life of our brethren living in the other part of the country.

The high points of the tour  would be visit and interaction with Honorable CM of Rajasthan, Smt. Vasundra Raje Ji, and interaction with the senior Army officers at Jaipur, Jodhpur and Udaipur. Amidst much fanfare Commander 11 Mtn Bde & the Deputy Commissioner of Chirang in the presence of parents, teachers and Army authorities Flagged off the party comprising of 18 children and 03 teachers selected from the various schools from all corners of the district.

The children and teachers were really very excited and were looking forward to the tour. The tour is being seen as a welcome initiative from the Army and are sure of achieving the aim of fostering patriotism and belongingness amongst the local population.

The tour commenced on 15 Oct 2016 from Assam and reached its 1st destination, Jodhpur on 17 Oct 2016. During the stay atJodhpur the children and teachers were given exposure to the rich Heritage and Culture of Rajasthan, to make them understand and appreciate the way of life of their brethren in this part of the country.

The touring party reached Udaipur on 19 Oct 2016. They witnessed the imp tourist and cultural destination to including City Palace, Bagore Ki Haveli, Jag Mandir and Maharana Pratap Smarak. The children also interacted with Maharana Arvind Singh Ji Mewar at the historical and iconic City Palace. They also interacted with senior Army officers at Eklingarh Army Cant. The memory of the visit to Udaipur will stay forever in my hearts, said Dwidensar Basumatary a class VII student belonging to a small village near the Indo – Bhutan border.
