All Yachuli Students Union (AYSU) on Tuesday opposed the decision taken by state cabinet to shift Divisional Commissioner West and DIG (West) at Yupia instead of Yachuli  and threatened for democratic movement.

In a press conference held at Arunachal Press club on Tuesday  AYSU President Likha Nigam said that it is very unfortunate decision that the state government have declared the Yachuli as Divisional Headquarter for the West Arunachal Pradesh and Chief Minister Mukut Mithi laid the foundation stone in the year 1999 and since then the state government have been doing their best effort to make start or function the establishment of Divisional Commissioner West from there which have never been materialised due to non availability of sufficient infrastructure.

The reason for taking a hurried decision is beyond indigenisation as why the state government is in so hurry to shift the Divisional Commissioner West Office at Yupia instead of Yachuli which is the permanent site fo the same.

Three Chief Minister of state which include Mukut Mithi in 1999, Nabam Tuki in 2016 and Pema Khandu in 2017 at different location in Yachuli Assembly constituency have announced in public meeting about functioning from Yachuli but the decision of the government in different direction which is not justified.

A memorandum in this connection have been jointly submitted by All Lower Subansiri District Students Union (ALSDSU) and All Yachuli  Students Union (AYSU)to Chief Minister wherein demanding rollback or review of the decision taken in the recent cabinet sitting held on May 18 last and the memorandum said that the people of the Yachuli area are not happy and dissatisfied with the decision of the government.

ALSDSU General Secretary Licha Saha while said that the general public of the Yachuli assembly constituency and area are totally dissatisfied with the hurriedly taken decision of the state cabinet and said lots of infrastructure have already been created and  GoAP instead of functioning of the Divisional office at Yachuli they are going to function temporary from Yupis is of no meaning and we will not tolerate.

They further threatened to launch democratic movement against the decision of the cabinet to start Divisional Commission and DIG Hq at Yupia instead of Yachuli if a decision is not reviewed or rollback  within ten days.
