AAPWU Called on Pema Khandu

Arunachal Pradesh Workers Union (AAPWU) led by its President Jalley Sonam called on Chief Minister Pema Khandu today. During the meeting, AAPWU submitted a memorandum highlighting various concerns for welfare of the working community in the state.

It asked for regularization of casual/contingencies workers by creating C and D posts, for enhancement of grade pay of ITI/diploma holder and meter reader, and for abolition of muster role system. The union also requested for regularization of Auxiliary Labour Corps (ALC) and to provide voluntary retirement scheme to them.

To check fake wages being drawn against the bogus names, AAPWU requested the Chief Minister for head count for contingency and casual workers under various departments. It also demanded for fully consideration of appointment to successor on compensation ground, on account of death of a worker.

In absence of regular conduct of DPC, the union requested for regular conduct of it and compulsory induction of trade union leaders while conducting to maintain transparency.

Highlighting concerns of women workers, AAPWU asked for granting of maternity leave especially to health workers child. Also it asked for construction of community hall or labour guest house and bachelors barrack in all district headquarters wherever it is necessary.

For overall benefit of the workers, AAPWU requested for establishment of three labour boards – state contract labour board, labour welfare board and workers education board.
