AAPSU Serve Ultimatum for deletion of Chakma Candidate from APPSC prelim exam list

Strongly condemning, the officers of Arunachal Pradesh service Commissioner (APPSC) the All Arunachal Pradesh Student Union (AAPSU) Serve Seven days Ultimatum to the State Government.

 AAPSU General secretary Tobom Dai inform that the recent notification of accepted list for APPSC (Prelims) examination as notified from the official website of Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission has candidates belonging to Chakma,  who are being categorized under the Scheduled Tribe (ST) and General category enrolled in the list. This is a gross violation since the Chakma are not indigenous native of the state and moreover the Chakrnas are not citizen of the country. While, addressing the media person here at Arunachal Press club today.

Dai also inform that AAPSU submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister office demanding immediate deletion of Chakma candidates from ensuing APPSC prelim exam list within seven days,, Disciplinary action to be initiated against erring officers (scrutiny committee) of the Arunachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (APPSC) who have enlisted the name of Chakma candidates in the list and Immediate furnishing of application forms and other relevant documents of the Chakma candidates who are in the accepted list.

He said that the team of AAPSU today meet the Chairman APPSC Tajom Taloh and he too have assured to look into the matter.

Dai said that one candidate address show Papum Pare and category was ST would be a mistake if ST certificate being issued by the district administration and the Papdum Pare district students union are going to DC Office Papum Pare to verify the documents of particular candidate and if it is clear then the government should immediately take action against the erring official.

Vice President (Protocol) Dr. Tayuk Sonam said that so far through social media and website it have come to know that 4 chakma candidate were found. Everyone know about the chakma-Hajong case is sub-Judice in supreme court of India and the acceptance of the names of Chakma in list is a big question, he observed.

This is not the first time the APPSC is doing and earlier also in case of the district library officer examination was done by knowingly or unknowingly wrong doing was happened he said.

Spokesperson Tadar Takiang while said that the commission have several officials and members and shows that if the highest commission of the state which does like this and do not come with clean and clear with the allegation threatened to launch democratic movement within seven days.

The matter related to the reflection of the names of Chakma in the prelim exam list is a gross mistake done by the scrutiny committee and government need to take it seriously or else we may launch democratic movement.

When asked about vandalism done by the students at APPSC office Dai while regretting the incident said that it may be outburst of the sentiment which should not be done.

Meanwhile it is to mention that the Arunachal Pradesh legislative Assembly have in 13th session of the 6th legislative assembly have passed a resolution against the permanent citizenship to chakma-Hajong in state of Arunachal Pradesh and protection of the rights of the indigenous community of state. The state government and students organisation have been fighting for the cause since its inception and even legal battle in the court of law at various label.

When contacted APPSC Chairman Tajom Taloh said that a delegation of AAPSU have meet him and apprise of their grievance and demand. And Commission will sit and discussed the matter. When asked about submission of memorandum to state government and to him Taloh said that we shall sit and discussed the matter and did not give disclose the date.
