The Chakma and Hajong refugees  should go back, , we will not except them to be citizenship of Arunachal Pradesh as Arunachal is special status state and bounded by Eastern Bengal Frontier Act and others said AAPSU President Hawa Bagang.

We have threadbare discussion on the issue and every one participated in the discussion and shows their serious concern on the influx of Chakma and Hajong refugees in the  state. The issue of granting of citizenship was also discussed and everybody supported the movement of the apex students union of state in opposing the grant of citizenship.  One point resolution was passed on the issue that “we shall not allow for grant of citizenship to the Chakma and Hajong refugees in the state of Arunachal Pradesh” Dai said.

Former AAPSU President and legal Advisor Nabam Jallow deliberated detail of the legal aspect of the case in High Court and Supreme Court of India and said that we shall continue to fight against the issue in the court of law. He also said that the SLP filed in Court is still pending and hopeful that a fruitful decision may be given.

AAPSU President Hawa Bagang while said that there is crisis of legality as few Chakma family come to state at point of time but in later stage from where and how the population of the refugees influx in the state so it is not expectable to us. Our is a tribal state and bounded by several law including the Eastern Bengal Frontier Act and several other. How we can share our land as our fellow Indian brothers and sister do not have right on land and property. They can stay in the designated camps peacefully but it is seen on many occasion they are involved in illegal activities and many of them are also involved in crime and destruction of reserved forest killing of wild animals and others how we can say they are legal Bagang said.
