73rd Independence Day celebration preparation underway-DC Capital   

Altogether, 26 troupes will be participated  in march past including 9 troupes of uniformed personnels, 2 band teams and rest troupes will be from different schools.

Preparation for 73rd Independence Day celebration on August 15 at IG Park is in full swing, informed Capital Deputy Commissioner Vikram Singh Malik after a review meeting with various stakeholders who are engaged for the purpose.

The DC hope that all arrangements are completed within the time frame for the grand celebration. He also stressed that the day should be celebrated in its true spirit.

Altogether, 26 troupes will be participated  in march past including 9 troupes of uniformed personnels, 2 band teams and rest troupes will be from different schools.

Also, 9 traditional troupes and 7 student troupes will perform various cultural programme to make the celebration colorful.

The independence day will witness unfurling of national tricolor by Chief Minister Pema Khandu followed by national anthem, Inspection of parade and march past.

Chief Minister Pema Khandu will address to the people of state from the IG Park on the occasion. State award will also be announced by the newly posted  chief secretary followed by performance of cultural programme by various cultural troops and distribution of trophies.

To boost up the moral of the uniform and students contingent today rehearsal the PTC Principal Dr. J S Sidhu give away token of award to the troupes. In uniform category the contingent of 4th IRBn and in school category the girls team of Don Bosco school, Jully were given away with prizes.

The independence day parade will be under the command of Dy. SP Tezu Tuthan Jsmba and Inspector Millo Ruja will be second in command. The sources said.
